2002 saw the first Honda Civic Hybrid, a combination gas/electric car that achieved 70 mpg.

The Honda RA302 would only appear in one race, the 1968 French Grand Prix at Rouen-Les-Essarts, driven by Jo Schlesser. Schlesser was chosen to drive the RA302 because John Surtees (the 1964 world champion) refused to drive it as he deemed it to be unsafe and labelled it a "potential deathtrap". He was proven correct on lap two of the Grand Prix when Schlesser crashed and the magnesium-bodied Honda (and 58 laps worth of fuel) ignited instantly, killing Schlesser and destroying the original RA302.

In 1989, the Accord was the first vehicle sold under an import brand to become the best-selling vehicle in the United States.

Honda uses the nameplate "Jazz" in Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa and some parts of Asia such as Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore; and the name "Fit" in Japan, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan, and the Americas.
