In an episode of The Munsters titled "Love Comes to Mockingbird Heights," the Creature from the Black Lagoon makes an appearance as "Uncle Gilbert".

Much to Fritz Lang's dismay, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels were big fans of his 1927 film Metropolis. Goebbels met with Lang and told him that he could be made an honorary Aryan despite his Jewish background. Goebbels told him "Mr Lang, we decide who is Jewish and who is not". Lang fled to Paris that very night.

Cleopatra (1934) was Cecil B. DeMille's first film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. (It didn't win Best Picture, but did take home the award for Best Cinematography.) The film features Claudette Colbert as Cleopatra, Warren William as Julius Caesar, and Henry Wilcoxon as Mark Antony.

In the 1998 version of The Man in the Iron Mask, D'Artagnan (played by Gabriel Byrne) jumps in front of Philippe (Leonardo DiCaprio) when he is attacked by Louis (also Leonardo DiCaprio) and takes a dagger for him. D'Artagnan dies before he can finish the musketeers' famous slogan "All for one, one for all".

The Mars exteriors were shot in Wadi Rum, Jordan, which has a red colored desert.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the only Star Wars film in which Harrison Ford gets top billing. He is the only non-Jedi character to be credited first.

The flame-shooting guitarist or "Doof Warrior" is Sean Hape, better known as iOTA, an Australian actor/musician who moved out of his home at age 17 to form the hard rock band Loose Goose. According to Hape, the guitar weighed 132 pounds, and shot real gas-powered flames, which he controlled using the whammy bar.

Janet van Dyne (a.k.a. Wasp) shrinks herself into subatomic quantum realm while disabling a Soviet nuclear missile and is presumed dead. This was her fate in the Marvel comic "Secret Invasion".

In Jupiter Ascending, Channing Tatum plays a pointy-eared interplanetary warrior who happens to be part dog. Tatum apparently kept all of his prosthetic ears as a souvenir from the film.
