Computer programmer Dennis Nedry shuts down the park's security systems to gain access to the embryos, which also cuts power to the tour vehicles, stranding them in front of the Tyrannosaurus rex paddock just as the storm hits.
The Tyrannosaurus escapes the paddock and attacks the vehicles, devouring Gennaro, injuring Malcolm, and forcing Grant, Tim and Lex into the park's dinosaur reserves.
Having acquired the embryos, Nedry attempts to reach the dock but loses his way in the storm and is killed by a poison-spitting Dilophosaurus.
Grant and the children find broken egg shells, proving Malcolm right. Breeding control methods have failed. Grant deduces that the dinosaurs were given the DNA of west African frogs, who can change from male to female in a single-sex environment.
When Lex tries to pet the Brachiosaur, it retreats. She edges forward in the tree to reach the creature. "Come on, girl. Come on up here, girl. Come on." Then the dinosaur sneezes right in Lex's face.
When he discovers that the park's reboot has freed the Velociraptors, Muldoon goes into the jungle to hunt them, but the raptors ambush and kill him.
The T. rex roar is a combination of a baby elephant's squeal, an alligator's gurgling, and a tiger's snarl. Its breath is the sound of air escaping a whale's blowhole.
There are only fifteen minutes of dinosaur footage in the film: nine minutes of Stan Winston's animatronics, and six minutes of Industrial Light & Magic CGI.
