Aubrey Drake Graham was born on October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario.

A pioneer of rock and roll and rockabilly music, Jerry Lee Lewis is perhaps best known for his 1957 hit "Great Balls of Fire". Drake's uncle also played bass for Sly and the Family Stone.

Drake's parents divorced when he was just five years old. After the divorce, he and his mother remained in Toronto, while his father returned to Memphis, where he was incarcerated for a number of years on drug-related charges.

Between 2001 and 2008, he appeared in a total of 100 episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation, playing a high school basketball star who became physically disabled after he was shot by a classmate.

Drake's second mixtape, Comeback Season, caught the attention of Lil Wayne, who asked him to board a flight to Houston and join his Carter III tour.

Drake has mentioned his relationship with Rihanna on every one of his studio albums. And when presenting her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2016, he said "she's a woman I've been in love with since I was 22 years old."

The internet almost exploded when it saw the wild lapdance Nicki Minaj gave Drake in her "Anaconda" video. Afterwards, he took to Twitter to confirm that he was happy he was selected for the cameo. "Def the best invite to a video shoot EVER. #ViewsFromMyChair #MyAnacondaWasWayUp"

As the man who signed him to Young Money in 2009 and kickstarted his career, it's easy to see why Drake would want to have a permanent reminder of Lil Wayne next to him at all times. Wayne, a man covered in tattoos himself, said he was "beyond floored" and "honored."

Drake founded the OVO Sound record label with longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib. The label's roots can be traced back to 2006, when Drake's first official mixtape, Room for Improvement, was released under the unofficial record label "All Things Fresh" which eventually became "October's Very Own".

In 2016, Drake's 13 nominations broke the record 11 previously held by Michael Jackson since 1984.
