On February 25, 2009, the Buccaneers released 5 veterans: LB Derrick Brooks, LB Cato June, WR Joey Galloway, WR Ike Hilliard, and RB Warrick Dunn. The Bucs had previously fired Head Coach Jon Gruden and General Manager Bruce Allen and were looking to build a younger team.
