Shatner produces and hosts the annual "Hollywood Charity Horse Show" that he founded in 1990. More than $1.25 million has been raised for children's charities, such as "Ahead With Horses", "L.A.'s BEST" and the "Children's Museum of Los Angeles".
Shatner claims he recorded "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" in the voice of somebody tripping on LSD. Nobody has ever tripped that bad.
In 2005, Shatner was voted the most popular television star in Germany, elected in online-voting by the spectators of the national television channel KabelEins. He appeared in the final episode to receive the honor personally.
"Has Been" was produced by Ben Folds who also plays on the album. Other guest performers include Joe Jackson, Aimee Mann, Henry Rollins and Adrian Belew.
Shatner posted on his Twitter account: "For some reason several sites (Wikipedia, IMDB...) have my name as William Alan Shatner. I don't have a middle name. Can we get it corrected?"
