A Soviet agent from James Bond's past, Pola Ivanova is spying on Max Zorin's oil-pumping station when her colleague, Klotkoff, is caught and executed. Realizing that she's been taping an incriminating conversation between Zorin and his oil company chief, Bond seduces her in order to steal the recording.
When Zorin's men attack Stacey's house, Bond grabs her shotgun and tries to drive them off, only to discover that she's loaded the gun with rock salt blanks.
STACEY: You can cook?
BOND: I've been known to dabble.
STACEY: Sounds interesting. What is it?
BOND: An omelette.
Believing Bond to be a suspect in Howe's murder, the police try to arrest him, but he and Stacey escape in a stolen fire-truck.
When she realizes that Zorin has left her to die, May Day helps Bond remove the lock-breaking bomb, loading the device onto a handcar and pushing it out of the mine, where it explodes, killing her.
When Zorin abducts Stacey, Bond manages to grab the airship's mooring rope. Zorin tries to knock 007 loose by ramming him into the Golden Gate Bridge, but Bond moors the airship to the framework of the bridge. Zorin and Bond then fight on the bridge and Zorin falls to his death into the San Francisco Bay.
