According to actor Richard Kiel, the metal mouthpiece was uncomfortable for him and he could only wear it for less than a minute without gagging. When Kiel was required to use the teeth to bite through something, licorice was used.
The Orchidae Nigra, or Black Orchid, is a rare purple flowering plant found growing among the ruins of an extinct ancient civilization near the River Tapirapé, in north-central Brazil. Drax plans to use the flower's toxins to create a lethal nerve agent.
After reporting to an MI6 base in Brazil, Bond is provided with a modified Glastron Carlson CV23HT and travels the Amazon River looking for Hugo Drax's research facility. When he encounters Jaws and other henchmen, 007 uses the "MINE EJECT" and "TORPEDO LAUNCH" buttons to take out pursuing speedboats. He then uses the "ROOF" button to escape from his boat just before it hits the Iguazu Falls, utilizing a concealed paraglider.
Bond is thrown into a pool containing a huge, reticulated python, but he undermines Drax's attempt to plan an amusing death for him by stabbing the python in the throat with a poison pen. "You're not a sportsman, Mr. Bond," Drax complains. "Why did you break off the encounter with my pet python?" Bond's response? "I discovered he had a crush on me."
DRAX: Neither war nor pestilence wiped out the race who built the city lying around us. It was their reverence for this lovely flower.
BOND: Because long-term exposure to its pollen caused sterility?
DRAX: Correct, Mr Bond.
Fortunately, Dr. Goodhead is a trained astronaut and able to pilot Moonraker 6 after she and Bond disable the actual pilots.
DR. GOODHEAD: There's no image on the radar scanner.
BOND: An entire city in space ...
DR. GOODHEAD: ...and still nothing on the radar scanner.
BOND: So nobody on Earth knows it's there.
DR. GOODHEAD: Right.
At the end of the film, Jaws escapes from Drax's disintegrating space station in an escape pod with his girlfriend Dolly. They open a bottle of champagne, and Jaws speaks his only line in the entire franchise: "Well, here's to us."
