LA PORTE: The coffin, it has your initials--J.B.
BOND: At the moment, rather him than me.
LA PORTE: At least you've been spared the effort of removing him. Colonel Bouvar passed away in his sleep, so they tell me.
BOND: Mmmm ...
LA PORTE: You sound disappointed you didn't kill him yourself, huh?
BOND: I am. Jacques Bouvar murdered two of my colleagues.
As Bond stands on the balcony outside the chapel, he observes Bouvar's widow behaving suspiciously. It is revealed that in an attempt to evade reprisals, Colonel Bouvar has faked his death and disguised himself as his own grieving widow.
He uses a jet pack to escape from the colonel's security men by making a short flight from the roof of the château to his nearby car. Presumably this is the same method he used to gain access to the château just prior to Bouvar's arrival.

Emilio Largo, or No. 2, is Bond's primary nemesis in Thunderball and a prominent member of the terrorist group SPECTRE. Largo is parodied in the Austin Powers movies as Robert Wagner's eye patch-wearing right-hand man to Dr. Evil, also known as No. 2.
