Little Nellie is a heavily armed autogyro shipped by Q in four suitcases and assembled before use. An autogyro, also known as gyroplane or gyrocopter, is a type of rotorcraft which uses an unpowered rotor in autorotation to develop lift, and an engine-powered propeller, similar to that of a fixed-wing aircraft, to provide thrust. The vehicle is equipped with machine guns, flamethrowers, aerial mines, rockets, and heat seeking missiles.
A Soviet spacecraft is captured in orbit by another unidentified craft, heightening tensions with the United States. It is soon discovered that the true mastermind behind both heists is Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the mysterious leader of SPECTRE who has been hired by a great power (strongly implied to be the People's Republic of China) to start a Soviet-American war.
Shortly after Bond's arrival at the ninja academy, an assassin stealthily enters the bedroom where Bond and Aki are sleeping and lowers a thin string, intending to drip poison into Bond's mouth. At the last moment, Bond turns in his sleep and Aki moves to his position, inadvertently swallowing the poison, which kills her almost instantly.
Tanaka plans "extra special cover" for Bond, who has already undergone surgery to disguise himself as a Japanese fisherman. Bond will now take a wife. Before seeing his bride-to-be, Bond asks: "Is she pretty?" Tanaka replies, "She has a face like a pig." However, at the traditional (mock) wedding, she is revealed to be a very pretty young woman named Kissy Suzuki.
Discovering that the mouth of the volcano is a disguised hatch to the secret SPECTRE base, Bond slips in, while Kissy goes to alert Tanaka.
Blofeld had previously appeared in several films, but his face was never shown. It is also the first film in the franchise where Bond doesn't wear his trademark dinner jacket or make an appearance at MI6 headquarters.
