VESPER: I am not!
BOND: You're going to have to trust me on this.
On the first hand of the tournament, 007 loses a chunk of cash to figure out how Le Chiffre bluffs. His physical "tell" involves him placing his left hand near his wounded eye.
007 pulls Vesper into a doorway and starts making out with her, but Obanno's bodyguard notices his earpiece and opens fire.
LE CHIFFRE: You changed your shirt, Mr. Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.
BOND: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.
Felix Leiter is an American CIA operative who is also in the game, but he's bleeding chips and knows he won't last much longer, so he offers to stake Bond who has a better chance of winning.
Le Chiffre has his girlfriend Valenka poison Bond's martini with digitalis, causing Bond to suffer severe tachycardia. Bond stumbles to his car and contacts medical specialists at MI6 Headquarters. He's about to use the defibrillator when he sees the connection isn't plugged in and passes out. Fortunately, Vesper arrives, fixes the defibrillator kit, and shocks him back to life.
