007 infiltrates a facility where Blofeld look-alikes are being created through surgery. Bond kills a test subject, and later the "real" Blofeld.
In the pre-credits scene, Bond is captured, and a random henchman sticks his hand into Bonds shoulder holster to retrieve 007's Walther PPK, but instead his hand comes out dripping with blood and trapped in some sort of medieval-looking mousetrap device.
Bond overpowers the guards and then manages to tie Blofeld to an operating table which he shoves into a huge vat of steaming mud. "Welcome to Hell, Blofeld," he quips.
"Diamonds Are Forever" was the second Bond theme to be performed by Shirley Bassey, after "Goldfinger". The song was also recorded in Italian by Bassey as "Una Cascata di Diamanti (Vivo Di Diamanti)".
Posing as diamond smuggler Peter Franks, Bond travels to Amsterdam to meet Franks' contact, Tiffany Case. The real Franks shows up, leading to a brutal battle between the two in an elevator, but Bond kills him and switches IDs to make it seem like Franks is Bond.
Q supplies Bond with a fake fingerprint that he uses to fool Tiffany Case into believing that he is Peter Franks.
Bond learns the diamonds are disguised as crystals in a chandelier, having been dropped of by the late Mrs. Whistler one day prior.
Case and Bond fly to Los Angeles, smuggling the diamonds inside the real Peter Franks' corpse.
