Grant shadows Bond on the Orient Express and murders Kerim Bey and the Russian agent Benz to hinder Bond's plans for escape. Later, Grant impersonates another British agent, Captain Nash. When Bond discovers the deception, he strangles Grant with his own garrote.

Although Klebb clearly fears for her life, it is ultimately Kronsteen that Number 1 holds responsible for the failed mission.

Bond and Klebb engage in a deadly dance with the SPECTRE agent trying to spike 007 with her poisoned shoe blade. Bond manages to hold her at bay with a chair long enough for Tatiana to get a fix on her and kill her with one shot.

She returns the wedding ring she wore when they were posing as a married couple. "Oh, yes," Bond says. "All government property has to be accounted for. But as I said before, we won't always work on the company's time, will we?"
