During the Day of the Dead festival in Mexico City, Bond stops a terrorist plot to blow up a stadium.
Bond overhears Sciarra say he plans to visit The Pale King.
Before kicking Sciarra out of a moving helicopter, 007 takes his ring, which is emblazoned with a stylized octopus.
Although Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" received mixed reviews from critics, it became the first Bond movie theme to reach number one in the UK Singles Chart.
A posthumous message from the previous M instructed Bond to carry out this unauthorized assassination.
MONEYPENNY: You want me to be your mole?
BOND: Yes.
MONEYPENNY: And what makes you think you can trust me?
BOND: Instinct.
Moneypenny delivers a handful of personal effects recovered from Skyfall, Bond's ancestral estate. Included amongst the effects is the document that gave Hannes Oberhauser temporary custody of 12-year-old James Bond.
BOND: What is it?
Q: Cutting-edge nano-technology. Smart blood. Microchips in your bloodstream. Allows us to track your movements in the field. You see those readouts? We can monitor your vital signs from anywhere on the planet.
BOND: Well, that sounds marvelous.
Q: Call it a post-Mexico insurance policy. By direct order of M.
Although the Aston Martin DB10 was originally meant for Bond, it has been reassigned to 009, presumably as punishment for Bond's extracurricular activities in Mexico. But when 009 arrives the following morning to pick up the DB10, Q finds that Bond has stolen the car and left a bottle of champagne in its place.
Although Q initially tells 007 that his watch merely tells time, being meant to help with his "punctuality issues", it is actually an exploding watch.
